ABOUT HOPPERS
FOR HEROES

Hoppers for Heroes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit initiative dedicated to empowering veterans, first responders, and individuals with disabilities through access to adaptive outdoor experiences using TerrainHopper all-terrain mobility vehicles. The program provides grants, community partnerships, and hands-on events that allow participants to explore trails, parks, and natural areas that would otherwise be inaccessible. By restoring mobility and independence in outdoor settings, Hoppers for Heroes promotes physical health, emotional healing, and community connection. The program partners with state and local parks, rehabilitation centers, and veteran organizations to create opportunities for adventure, camaraderie, and personal growth in nature.

Hoppers for Heroes

Hoppers for Kiddos is a companion program designed specifically for children under 18 living with physical disabilities in Arizona. Building on the mission of Hoppers for Heroes, this program focuses on getting kids and their families outdoors—many for the first time—through guided trail outings at state, county, and city parks. Using adaptive TerrainHoppers, children can explore, play, and connect with nature in a safe and inclusive environment. In addition to outdoor adventures, Hoppers for Kiddos provides micro-grants to help families purchase adaptive recreation equipment, supporting year-round access to active, nature-based experiences.

Together, both programs share a common goal: breaking down barriers to outdoor mobility and bringing the freedom, confidence, and joy of nature to everyone—regardless of ability.

OUR CORPORATE PARTNERS AND NON-PROFIT BENEFICIARIES

ADAPTIVE MOBILITY

For individuals with physical disabilities, something as simple as enjoying a walk on the beach or exploring a nature trail can be a tremendous challenge. Uneven ground, sand, and steep trails often make these experiences—so common for many—difficult or even impossible without specialized adaptive equipment.

Everyone deserves the freedom to experience nature’s beauty—feeling the ocean breeze, hiking through the woods, or spending time outdoors with friends and family. With the right mobility technology and support, people of all abilities can regain access to the outdoors, rediscover the joy of adventure, and strengthen their connection with the natural world.

WHAT IS A TERRAINHOPPER?

A TerrainHopper is an electrically powered, all-terrain mobility vehicle designed to give people with disabilities or limited mobility the freedom to explore outdoor environments that traditional wheelchairs can’t handle.

Unlike standard power chairs or scooters, the TerrainHopper is built more like an off-road vehicle. It features rugged 4×4 independent suspension, large knobby tires, a powerful electric drive system, and up to 10 inches of ground clearance—allowing it to tackle sand, snow, gravel, mud, rocky trails, and steep terrain with ease.

TerrainHoppers can be operated using either handlebar controls or a joystick, making them accessible to users with a wide range of physical abilities. As a result, the TerrainHopper opens up a world of outdoor adventure—helping people who once felt confined to paved paths experience true independence and exploration again.
